The Clio Trophy France Terre made a stopover on the spectacular Corsican special stages of the Rallye Terre d’Aleria for the second round of its 2025 season. Mika Rasoamaromaka and Mélissa Declerck overcame the challenges of the course to take their second consecutive victory and consolidate their lead in the general classification. Behind them, the crews of Florian Bouchonneau - Jeanne Rey and Anaël Cayla - Rémi Nolorgues completed an all-Junior podium.

After the season kicked off in the Causses region, the Clio Trophy France Terre headed to Corsica. After Thursday’s shakedown and scrutineering, Alexandre Gransagne, Lény Cols, Alexandre Brossy and Romain Sagnes won a Michelin LTX Force T XL92 tyre in addition to their starting bonus prize, courtesy of a draw organised by Ceerta, Michelin Motorsport’s official distributor in the French Rally Championship.

Mika Rasoamaromaka set the pace in the opening special stage before suffering a puncture in the following timed sector, leaving local competitor Anthony Rovina to take the lead. Fourth halfway through the leg, Mika Rasoamaromaka resumed his attack, setting the time to beat in Champ de Tir and Les Lunaries, where Anthony Rovina made a mistake. The formidable Corsican tracks lived up to their reputation, with several contenders falling victim to the conditions, including Alexandre Villiod and Bastien Bergounhe.

Back in the lead, Mika Rasoamaromaka picked up where he left off on Saturday morning around Pianiccia before settling in to manage his lead. Attention then shifted to the second-place battle between Florian Bouchonneau and Anaël Cayla. The latter took the upper hand with two consecutive scratch times in the morning, but the 2022 Clio Trophy France Terre winner fought back by monopolising the fastest times in the final loop.

Mika Rasoamaromaka won with a 42.9s lead over Florian Bouchonneau. 6.8s further behind, Anaël Cayla confirmed the promise he showed in the Causses with his maiden podium finish in the trophy. Behind this trio of Juniors, Alexandre Gransagne finished fourth ahead of Christophe Truchet, who gained momentum as the rally progressed. Sixth, Benjamin Rico finished ahead of Jean Lavigne and Thomas Eustaquio, who both made a remarkable comeback after punctures the previous day. Ludovic Casciani finished ninth on his first outing of the year, and Lény Cols, winner of the 2024 Clio Trophy Belgium, completed the top ten.

With his second consecutive victory and third in his Clio Trophy France career, Mika Rasoamaromaka extends his lead to 17 points ahead of Florian Bouchonneau, the new leader of the Performer Jean Ragnotti classification. With the success of its Madagascan driver and Anaël Cayla’s podium finish, Fun Meca Sport also pulled away in the team rankings, as did Agence De Luca in the Renault Network Challenge, thanks to the performances of Florian Bouchonneau and Christophe Truchet.

Contested within the French Gravel Rally Championship, the Corsican round also saw Clio Rally3 win in RC3 and in the CFRT FFSA GT2i Trophy with Damien Mattei and Corentin Silvestre. The crew showed great skill in finishing in the overall top ten, beating Mika’s twin brother, Faniry Rasoamaromaka, and his co-driver, Manon Deliot. Guillaume Tardy and Caroline Puel completed both podiums monopolised by Clio Rally3. Despite a minor accident on Friday, Matteo Chatillon and Maxence Cornuau made the most of the rally to rack up valuable kilometres ahead of their upcoming WRC3 fixtures.

The Clio Trophy France Terre returns to action at Rallye Terre de Lozère (29-31 August) for the third of five rounds on its calendar. In the meantime, the Clio Trophy France Asphalte returns at the Rallye Aveyron Rouergue Occitanie from 3 to 5 July.

Mika Rasoamaromaka: "I’m very happy to win again, especially since it’s my consecutive second win. It all comes down to teamwork, whether with Fun Meca Sport, my co-driver Mélissa Declerck, or myself. We all work together with my family and all the Madagascan fans. This weekend was unusual, especially with the puncture that dropped us to fourth place. However, that was our only problem, and we moved back up on the second loop on Friday, so I’m delighted. We’ll target more of the same at Rallye Terre de Lozère. I will approach this round like the first two: try to build a lead on day one and then manage it smartly!"
