The Clio Trophy France Terre concluded its season at Rallye Terre de Vaucluse. After a weekend full of surprises, Alexandre Villiod became the youngest winner in the trophy history at just 17 years and 11 months old. Meanwhile, Madagascar’s Mika Rasoamaromaka did enough to secure the title and help Fun Meca Sport seal another team championship, whilst Mélissa Declerck became the first co-driver to guide two different drivers to the crown.

The Clio Trophy France Terre visited Courthézon for the first time for a final round that promised to be a thriller and certainly lived up to expectations.

Right from the start, the field found itself in an unprecedented situation this year, with Mika Rasoamaromaka not winning the opening special stage. The youngest driver in the service park, Alexandre Villiod, struck hard, taking a 10.0s lead between Rasteau and Roaix. The Madagascan fought back in SS2, but Alexandre Villiod extended his lead in Plan de Dieu, where Ludovic De Luca took his maiden stage win in the Clio Trophy France Terre.

Leading at the end of the first loop, contested on muddy and treacherous terrain, Alexandre Villiod produced a sensational second run in Rasteau - Roaix to relegate his rivals to more than half a minute. After Mika Rasoamaromaka suffered a puncture, Nicolas Hebrard emerged as his closest pursuer, but his hopes faded when he got stuck in the mud in the following stage. Thomas Eustaquio was quickest in SS5 to move into second place before being overtaken by Alexandre Gransagne, who did the same at the end of the day.

On Saturday, Jean Lavigne became the sixth different driver in seven special stages to score a stage win durng the weekend. The title race then took a turn with the retirement of Mika Rasoamaromaka’s teammate and main rival, Anaël Cayla. The Madagascan then controlled his pace, whilst Alexandre Villiod remained the class of the field in Ruth.

Best Junior in the 2024 Clio Trophy Spain Tierra and class winner in the 2025 French Rally Cup Final, Alexandre Villiod claimed his maiden Clio Trophy France Terre victory. The Albertville native set a new record for precocity by winning at just 17 years and 11 months of age. The Spanish Brunet Compétition team driver finished ahead of Thomas Eustaquio, who also confirmed his progress with his first podium result, and Alexandre Gransagne, who scored his second consecutive top-three finish.

While Christophe Truchet took fourth place by 0.8s, Mika Rasoamaromaka secured the title, the Jean Ragnotti Performer Trophy, and contributed to the Fun Meca Sport team’s fourth title in five years. The Madagascan driver and Jérémy Brissiaud’s team will continue their adventure together in 2026 as part of the official programme reserved for the best Junior driver. Mélissa Declerck also became the first co-driver to lead two drivers to the Clio Trophy France Terre title, after Quentin Ribaud – also with Fun Meca Sport – in 2021.

In his Clio Trophy France Terre debut, David Ferrière finished sixth ahead of Jean Lavigne and Johan Grès, whose result keeps the Clio Full Challenge suspense alive heading to the final round at the Rallye du Var. In ninth place, Thomas Escartefigue avoided the pitfalls to snatch victory in the Gentlemen’s category from Dimitri Felices and Ludovic De Luca, already crowned top of the class and Renault Network Challenge winner with his agency.

In the French Gravel Rally Championship, Rallye Terre de Vaucluse also saw former Clio Trophy France Asphalte and Clio Trophy France Terre competitors shine. Last year’s best juniors, Tom Pellerey and Arthur Pelamourgues, made a strong impression, challenging for the podium on their Rally2 debut. In parallel, Steven Bossard and Jacques-Julien Renucci led a Clio Rally3 sweep of the top seven in the GT2i CFRT FFSA Trophy.

After the Clio Trophy France Terre, the Clio Trophy France Asphalte will conclude its season at Rallye du Var from 27 to 29 November.

Alexandre Villiod: "It’s hugely satisfying to clinch my first victory in Clio Trophy France Terre. The whole Brunet Compétition team, including Maëlle and me, worked very hard to be perfectly prepared. We had a great day on Saturday, building up a lead that gave us the luxury of managing on Sunday. That’s exactly what we did, while finishing second in the two-wheel drive category. I think I’ve reached a new level this season. I’m driving more smoothly, consistently, cleanly, and efficiently. Of course, we’re not always the fastest or the most spectacular, but that’s what has enabled us to achieve this result."

Mika Rasoamaromaka: "I am thrilled and proud to win the Clio Trophy France Terre title. I had been aiming for it for several years, but I finally achieved my goal this season. I want to thank my co-driver, Mélissa Declerck, whose experience was invaluable in helping me achieve this. This title also means I’ll be part of the official programme. I hope to have some great experiences and give my best to perform as well as the drivers who preceded me."
