A national title in Greece, new champions in Clio Trophy Canarias and Clio Trophy Portugal, as well as numerous successes across Europe. A look back at a weekend where the fifth-generation Renault Clio added to its wealth of victories!
Clio Trophy Portugal
João Rodrigues and Bruno Carvalho were crowned Clio Trophy Portugal champions after securing their fourth victory of the season with a dominant performance at Rally de Lisboa. The Mafra native succeeds Danny Carreira, winner of the inaugural edition. Tiago Pereira and Fernando Pereira, along with Luís Caetano and David Monteiro, completed the podium in both the season finale and the final trophy classification.
Clio Trophy Canarias
Jesús Pérez and Aythami Díaz won the fourth edition of the Clio Trophy Canarias after their latest victory in the Maspalomas Rally. The duo snatched the title from Kevin Kipar and Raúl Sánchez, who had led for most of the season. Jesé Ramos and Alejandro Falcón completed the podium in this final round. Alongside the trophy, Clio Rally4 secured a podium finish in its category with Noé Armas and Efrain González.
German Rally Championship
This weekend also marked the conclusion of the German Rally Championship and FIA European Rally Trophy. On the roads of the ADMV Lausitz Rallye, Clio Rally3 again starred on the national scene with Carsten Mohe and Andrea Lieber’s sixth win of the season. Clio Rally5 was not to be outdone, with Torsten Müller and Bastian Pfeiffer securing victory in RC5.
Greek Gravel Rally Championship
Paschalis Chatzimarkos and Marios Tsaoussoglou secured another overall podium finish in their Clio Rally3 at Rally Parnassou. Bolstered by this solid result near Mount Parnassus, the duo clinched the national Rally3 title, a nice reward after a promising campaign for the model, which won most of the special stages and three of the four rounds on the calendar.
Romanian Rally Championship
The Raliul Argeșului hosted the final round of the Romanian national championship, where Bogdan Minea and Gheorghe Dumitru Clio Rally4 finished on the podium in RO 4 and front-wheel drive in their Clio Rally4. While Samuil Mircea had already clinched the Clio Rally5 Challenge title, Eduard Grigoriu and George Grigorescu secured their second consecutive victory at the final round.
San Marino Rally Championship
Clio Rally3 and Clio Rally5 continued their flawless run in the San Marino special stages at the Halloween Ronde. The four-wheel drive car monopolised the top five in its class, led by Pierfrancesco Verbilli and Andrea Albertini in Rally3, while Luca Ferraris and Martina Fiori won in an impressive field of 14 Clios in Rally5. The model also claimed podium places in the Women’s category with Sofia Bonollo - Angela Diener and Genny Moruzzi - Ruben Ciani.
Spanish Tarmac Rally Championship
Clio Rally4 and Clio Rally5 both won at Rallye Costa de Almería, with the crews José Miguel López Mañas - Miguel Montoya Parra and Francisco Puertas - Sergio Fernández. 2020 and 2021 Clio Trophy Spain winner, Jorge Cagiao claimed his second national title in the same event behind the wheel of the Alpine A110 Rallye GT+, again demonstrating the genuine springboard offered by Clio Rally5.
French Rally Cup
In France, the action focused on the Rallye 24 Dordogne Périgord, where Clio Rally5 won its class in the hands of Romain Brun and Aurélia Chevalier. Seventh overall, the duo led a sweep of the top seven in Rally5. On the same roads, the crews of Richard Duranton and Armand Autier, and Thomas Vergines and Marine Brouel, claimed class podium positions for Clio Rally4.
