From a historic victory for Clio Rally4 in FIA Euro RX4 to the Indonesian special stages via Europe, the Clio Rally range continued to demonstrate all its qualities last weekend.

FIA European Rallycross Championship

Clio Rally4 became the inaugural winner in FIA Euro RX4, as Andrea Bénézet dominated the new class from Saturday, kept his composure, and maintained a consistent pace to win both his semi-final and the final at the Biķernieki circuit in Latvia. The Frenchman was joined on the podium by Estonian Albert Ako Kokk and his compatriot Thomas Quincé, while China’s Haotian Deng completed a Renault sweep of the top four. The next round takes place on 30 and 31 May at Nyriad (Hungary).

Clio Trophy Canarias

The Clio Trophy Canarias began its season on the tarmac stages of Rally Villa de Adeje. In a field of Clio Rally5 cars, Walter Delgado and Alejandro Rodríguez edged out Kevin Kipar and Raúl Sanchez by 4.7 seconds for the win. Noe Armas and Efraín González also made the podium. Meanwhile, Erik Guerra and Claudia Lemes won their class in a Clio Rally4 and finished in the top ten overall.

Estonian Rally Championship

Clio Rally3 won the Saaremaa Sprintralli, the opening round of the Estonian Rallysprint Championship and round two of the Estonian Rally Championship, with Priit Koik and Hendrik Kraav. They set the fastest time on five of six special stages and won by 49.9s. They also topped the EMV3 and 4WD classes.

Greek Tarmac Rally Championship

Clio Rally5 claimed another victory in Greece at the Rally Achaios. The Bulgarian duo of Petar Yordanov and Lyubka Yordanova dominated their class, seizing the RC5 honours, finishing fifth in F2, and breaking into the top ten overall. Clio Rally4 found less success, as the Greek pair of Ioannis Bistas and Christos Bakloris retired.

Indonesian Rally Championship

Clio Rally4 impressed in the first two rounds of the Indonesian calendar at the Banua Rally. Sakha Rahim and Muhammad Zaki Supriatna set the pace in the opening round to win in RC4, before missing out on a second success on the following day by just 1.8s. The pair nevertheless finished in the top ten overall.

Slovenian Rally Championship

Clio Rally5 was victorious at the start of the Slovenian championship at the Vipavska dolina Rally. On the Ajdovščina tarmac, Rene Černigoj and Blaž Gerbec led lockouts of the top five in the D1 and 5 classes. Beaten only by cars in higher categories, the crew also finished just off the podium in the Juniors class.

French Rally Cup

Clio Rally3 and Clio Rally5 dominated across France, with Franck Groscarret - Sébastien Sasso and Yohan Roumieux - Bastien Fontaine winning at Rallye Ain-Jura; Guillaume Halbourg - Julien Breton and Nicolas Dumont - Geoffrey Bugny at Rallye de Dieppe-Normandie; and Mickaël Caritey - Anthony Fernandes and Jérôme Potard - Pauline Chonavel at Rallye de Bligny-sur-Ouche. Clio Rally4 also took podiums at these events with Jérôme Bonnefoy - Cédric Gerber, Sylvain Fouteret - Céline Fossé, and Vincent Forès - Pascaline Darras.

Clio Rally4 and Clio Rally5 also triumphed at Rallye des Monts de Blond with David Érard - Chloé Jacoup and Julien Borderie - Benoît Serres. Clio Rally5 continued its regional success with Anthony Dominici - Christophe Andreani’s win at Rallye des Monts de Vaucluse, where Claude and Patricia Benedetto finished on the podium in their Clio Rally4.

And elsewhere

Alongside Clio Rally3’s double top ten results with Sylvain Tamisier - Mathieu Tamisier and Jarkko Nikara - Tomiya Maekawa at Vodafone Rally de Portugal, the range continued its success across Europe.

In Italy, Clio Rally3 and Clio Rally5 took the honours at Rally Valle d’Aosta with Ennio Bini - Marta De Paoli (Rally3), Fabrizio Caveglia - Fabio Treccani (Rally5), and Jastine Sertori - Vanessa Lai (Women’s). Meanwhile, Clio Rally3 won at the Benacvs Rally with Davide Marai and Francesco Grigoli. Lastly, Igor Rainoldi - Fabio Grimaldi (Rally3), Stefano Roncadori - Walter Pasini (Challenger Rally3 Italia), Andrea De Nunzio - Nico Mostacchi (Rally5) and Michele Barri - Mirko Franzi (Challenger Rally5 Italia) all led Renault to victory at Rally Coppa Valtellina.

Isak Sjökvist and Simon Lindström finished sixth overall and in the top five in the four-wheel-drive category with Clio Rally3 at the Björn Waldegårds Minne (Sweden). Meanwhile, Vilma Kivenne and Jasmin Heinonen took RC4 honours at the Autohuolto.com Ralli (Finland) in their Clio Rally4.

A class victory for Clio Rally5 went to Gert Marboe Jensen and Silas Marboe at the Motorsportshop Rallysprint (Denmark). Carsten Jensen - Michael Fasterhold and Jesper Seehusen - Mathilde Andrae Seehuse achieved a double podium in class for Clio Rally3 there. Success for Clio Rally5 continued in the Juniors category with Luca Andrei Racoviță and Teodor-Gabriel Găină at the Trofeul Vețel Hunedoara (Romania). Additional triumphs came for the model with Jiří Hladík and Veronika Teplá (RC5) and Stanislav Zeman and Ján Konfal (Class 6) at Kopná Rallysprint in the Czech Championship.
