The attractions of the Renault Village #5: R.S. is Passion

Complementing the Eurocup Clio action on the track at the Circuito de Jerez is the Renault Village, which is offering World Series by Renault spectators a whole host of attractions all weekend long. Situated right next to the paddock, the Village is one of the focal points of the event, giving Spanish race fans a revealing and entertaining insight into the world of Renault.

The Renault Village showcases Renault Sport’s many values to spectators. Since the start of the season, we have been focusing on its various exhibition zones, telling you what to expect when you venture into R.S. is Adrenaline, R.S. is Game, R.S. is Story and R.S. is Racing. Today, at the final meeting of WSR’s tenth season at the Circuito de Jerez, we put the spotlight on the Village’s other exhibition area: R.S. is Passion.

Encapsulating the passion for motorsport and cars that Renault Sport projects through its entire range, R.S. is Passion reveals the close link that exists between the company’s competition and production cars by displaying a Clio R.S. and a Clio Cup side by side.

Where would Renault be without the passion that drives it forward? That burning desire has been the focal point of the marque’s activities since its foundation, inspiring it to excel in the most prestigious of motorsport competitions. For the best part of 50 years, Renault has been a benchmark in one-make racing series, a status now embodied by the World Series by Renault.

Starring in Eurocup Clio and a series of national championships, the latest-generation Clio Cup is the heir to the throne of the hot-hatch development series launched by Renault nearly 50 years ago with the Coupe R8 Gordini, with many a talented driver having since made their name in these competitions.

The R.S. is Passion stand takes pride of place in the Renault Village at the Circuito de Jerez, sitting between the track museum and the legendary Curva Alex Crivillé, a setting for some memorable tussles over the years. Inspired by the trademark red livery of the Clio R.S. and the DeZir concept car, it has much to offer race-goers, including an entertaining quiz that takes the World Series by Renault and the history of the marque as its theme.
