Renault Sport is making a date with race fans at the World Series by Renault’s sixth meeting of the season at the Circuit Paul Ricard. Aside from the action on the track, the Fast, Free and Fun event is laying on a whole host of attractions for spectators young and old, each of them designed to reveal everything the Renault range has to offer as well as its sporting heritage.

One of the five main exhibition areas at the all-new Renault Village is R.S. is Story, which takes visitors on a fascinating journey through the French carmaker’s rich motorsport history. Situated right in the heart of the Village, R.S. is Story is an obligatory port of call for WSR fans.

Revealing the importance of motorsport to the French manufacturer, R.S. is Story tells the absorbing tale of how its most popular models made their names on road and track. The Renault Sport saga is retold through its legendary cars, from the Renault 8 Gordini Coupe of 1969, the R12 Gordini Coupe of 1971 and the R5 LS Coupe of 1974, all the way through to the Renault 5 GT Turbo Coupe (1985), the Renault Clio 16 S Coupe (1990) and the Renault Megane Coupe (1995)

Sitting proudly on display in their original livery, these six era-defining cars tell a story of success, each of them having excelled in the driver development series in which Renault Sport has forged its name, from the Coupe Gordini to the Renault Clio Coupe de France. The Renault 5 GT Turbo Coupe boasts a proud rally heritage, for example, one that includes overall victory in the 1989 Rallye de la Côte d’Ivoire.

Ever since the creation of the World Series by Renault, Renault Sport has always sought to tell the tale of how its involvement in motorsport began. Its legendary cars also take to the track at each meeting in the Renault Classic Show. Starring French rally icon Jean Ragnotti, it is one of the most spectacular and popular of all the events on the WSR bill, as you can see for yourself in the video below.

Complementing the R.S. is Story zone is a selection of vehicles from the Renault Classic collection, which are on show at each meeting and parade around the track. And the Story goes on, with the Renault Village at the Circuit Paul Ricard also bringing you the Nouvelle Renault Twingo, the spectacular latest edition to the range.
