At the end of Friday’s first collective testing session, a young driver raced off the Spa-Francorchamps track. He was on his way to his hotel, but there would be no napping on this break. Sean Gelael had an exam to study for before heading back to the paddock to compete in the second round of collective tests.

"The start of the season was hard, because I missed a test day at Motorland Aragón," says the Indonesian driver. "Going to school and racing in the World Series by Renault season requires making sacrifices, but when you really want something, it’s always possible. If you’re passionate about something, you find a way to make it work."

Organisation is key, especially for a driver who is on a whirlwind tour of Europe. "You have to manage your time well and know when to take a break keep your balance."

Luckily for Sean, this will be his last exam for the year at the prestigious University of Bath, where he is a first-year management student. "I’ll really be able to focus on racing now, because I won’t start back at school until September."

After a difficult start to the season at Motorland Aragón, Sean earned his first points just a week ago in Monaco. He’ll try and keep up the momentum at Spa-Francorchamps - a track he particularly likes - and especially racing the Formula Renault 3.5 Series. "Driving such a powerful car on this track is just amazing."
