Renault lifts the IRC 2WD Cup!

With 338 points, Renault has won the IRC Manufacturers’ Cup in the Two-Wheel Drive category. Aside from Robert Consani, the dominant force in this new international rally title championship, 15 other drivers from nine different nations have scored points this season. This success again confirms the qualities of the Twingo Renaultsport R2, Clio Renaultsport R3 and Megane Renaultsport N4, all of which have shone throughout the season, over all types of terrain.

A must-attend event for competition models of all marques, the Intercontinental Rally Challenge allows many drivers, amateur and professional, to compete all over Europe on and off-road.

With nine victories, including seven doubles, in 13 events, Renault has been the force to be reckoned with in the Two-Wheel Drive category. On asphalt, it was the Megane Renaultsport N4 that scored Renault its points, some seven times with either Robert Consani, François Delecour or Federico Gasperetti behind the wheel. Renault’s Clio Renaultsport R3 and Twingo Renaultsport R2 have also made the grade, scoring Manufacturers’ points in 11 of the season’s 13 events.

After 12 of the 13 legs making up the 2012 season, Robert Consani is lying in second place in the IRC 2WD Drivers’ Cup and has claimed the IRC Production Cup. At the wheel of his Megane Renaultsport N4, the man from Provence has dominated his category on three occasions, in Spain, the Ukraine and Bulgaria.
