Renault Sport and the ACM extend their partnership
Associated for nearly 30 years, the Automobile Club de Monaco (ACM) and Renault announces the renewing of their global strategic partnership. The solid relationship with Renault Sport benefits directly, allowing the Formula Renault 3.5 Series race to continue as the curtain raiser for the F1 Grand Prix for three years.
From the first entry of a Renault in the 1924 Monte-Carlo Rally to the success of the make throughout the decades, Renault and the Monaco Principality have a history based on common values and undiminished passion.
As the curtain raiser for the F1 Grand Prix, since its inception, the Formula Renault 3.5 Series race has become a major event in the open-wheel panorama. Succeeding Formula Renault, present since 1972, then the French carmaker’s single-make ‘sedan’ categories, the F1 driver development program proposed by Renault Sport offers hopefuls a chance to shine in front of the sport’s powerbrokers on a legendary circuit.
The 2015 edition will benefit from a new format with the Friday practice session, the Saturday qualifying and the race on Sunday just prior to the GP.
In addition to the sporting domain, Renault has gotten into the habit of also unveiling models and concept cars in this glorious setting, as was the case with the Zoé, Captur, Twin’Run, Alpine A110-50 and the prestigious ‘Monaco GP’ limited edition over the past few years.
Jean-Pascal Dauce, Competition Director, Renault Sport Technologies : “We share the same vision of motor racing with the ACM. That is enough to explain the success of our partnership for these many years ! It is still just as pleasant, motivating and enthralling to work with such a professional structure. With our rich common past with the Automobile Club de Monaco, we look forward to new exciting chapters in our history !”
