- Renault has used events to showcase new cars and unique marketing and press activities.
- World Series by Renault will continue as race support to the Grand Prix de Monaco.
- Renault and the ACM have been partners for more than 25 years.
The Renault Group and the Automobile Club de Monaco (ACM) are delighted to announce the extension of their strategic partnership for an additional three years. The ACM is one of the most famous motoring clubs in the world, organizing some of the classic races on the motorsport calendar, including the Formula 1 Grand Prix, Rallye Monte-Carlo and the Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique, which now attracts more than 300 entries. The new agreement will see Renault provide support and VIP vehicles across all ACM events.
At the Grand Prix de Monaco, Renault supplies 80 vehicles for the use of ACM and FIA VIP guests, FIA Stewards and FIA club members. Renault also showcases its latest cars, including the new electric city car, Zoe, crossover SUV Captur and the new Clio R.S. 200 EDC, throughout the weekend. At the Rallye Monte-Carlo this year Renault transported over 800 people in its toughest all-terrain vehicles, including the Dacia Duster and the Renault Espace.
Renault has additionally leveraged the partnership for unique sporting, press and commercial events. The Formula Renault 3.5l series, one of the most established junior single seater categories, has supported the F1 Grand Prix for some years, while the radical new concept car, Alpine 110-50 (ZAR), designed by Laurens van den Acker was launched at the 2012 Monaco Grand Prix, with the sporty Twin’Run unveiled at this year’s race. Earlier in the year, Chief Operating Officer Carlos Tavares and former Renault rally driver Jean Ragnotti competed in the historic rally in Alpine Berlinettes, while significant commercial incentives were organized within the framework of the World Rally Championship Rallye Monte-Carlo in January.
Jean-Michel Jalinier, President of Renault Sport F1, commented: “Our collaboration with the ACM is one of the most enduring partnerships in our history. What started as a logical affiliation between two French speaking companies working in the car industry has evolved into a collaboration that has produced numerous benefits for both companies. Through this close association with the ACM, we have leveraged opportunities that would not have been possible otherwise. We look forward to creating many more activities through this partnership and continuing to provide the highest levels of support to the ACM and its guests."
