Margot Laffite becomes Renault Sport Ambassador

The long relationship between the Laffite family and Renault takes a new form in 2014. This year, Margot Laffite becomes a Renault Sport Ambassador making the most of her expertise and notoriety.

In 1970, Jacques Laffite began his motor racing career competing in Formula France in a Renault powered Martini MK4 before going on to become one of the first French Formula Renault Champions in history. 16-years later, he wrapped up his Formula 1 run with the Ligier team, powered by the famous French V6 turbo.

More than 30 years later, his daughter Margot Laffite carried on the family ties with the firm with her participation in the World Series by Renault in both the Eurocup Mégane Trophy and Eurocup Clio. She was there to compete and went on to become one of the most popular figures in the Fast, Free & Fun event proposed by Renault Sport Technologies.

As an ambassador, Margot Laffite brings all her motor racing expertise, professionalism and media savvy to Renault Sport. Throughout the year, the television host and automobile test driver will also provide her extensive knowledge during the presentation and the promotion of both standard series and competition products.

”Renault’s history is very closely linked to my career, but especially so in motor racing. I am very attached to this constructor with which I have had a great pleasure to drive race cars”, says Margot Laffite. ”Becoming a Renault Sport ambassador was natural and it is with great pleasure that I accept this offer.”

”We are delighted that Margot Laffite has accepted the role of ambassador that we proposed”, affirms Régis Fricotté, Marketing and Communication Director at Renault Sport Technologies. ”As a skilled driver and well-known television celebrity, Margot is without question one of the most qualified professionals that we have met at Renault! Her career and personality make her the ideal person to speak about the quality, innovation, technology and performance level of the Renault Sport line of products.”
