12 teams chosen for the 2014 Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 season
The World Series by Renault Organizing Committee and Renault Sport Technologies revealed, Wednesday 12 March, the teams selected for the 2014 Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 season. The entered teams will continue their pre-season testing this coming Monday at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
12 teams were selected to participate in this year’s Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0, one of the most competitive championships in Europe.
Among the teams authorized to enter up to three cars, there are 11 squads returning from 2013. With the association of Interwetten.com Racing, Mukesh Jani, Cong Fu Cheng and the Brothers Racing Team (BRT), entered in GT, the Michael Schneider squad will enter under the name of China BRT by JCS.
Jenzer Motorsport, which will focus this year on the Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS with four cars, will be replaced by AVF. The Adrian Valles team joins the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0, after entering the Formula Renault 3.5 Series last year.
Two more two-day collective testing sessions remain for the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 contenders on 17-18 March at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya and on 27-28 March at the Circuito de Jerez, before the first race of the 2014 season at Motorland Aragón on 26 and 27 April.
On occasion, throughout the season, the top teams and drivers from the Formula Renault 2.0 NEC and ALPS championships will measure themselves against the Eurocup regulars.
